Playing and reading
You can read the stories, play the free browser games, and download the free activity book without an account. These pages do not contain chat, public profiles, advertising trackers, social embeds, or forms asking for a child’s personal information. Fonts, pictures, and game code are served with the site.
What stays in this browser
Leaf Dash saves a best-score number. The site also saves a yes-or-no return-visit flag and may keep a local activity trail with explored activities, the most recent game and a count of finished games. Little Garden saves the positions of its friends and pieces in this browser; the scene is not uploaded or shared. These values contain no name, email address, birthday, or account identifier. They are shared by people using the same browser profile.
The values remain until you clear them or your browser removes them. Use Clear saved play and garden on the grown-ups page. This clears browser game data, not payment or support records.

merrywick.leafDash.best.v1, merrywick.beenHere.v1, and merrywick.playTrail.v1, plus merrywick.littleGarden.v1 for a garden scene.
Optional learning progress
Saving learning progress starts off. A grown-up can enable it on the grown-ups page. When enabled, this browser stores the latest counting, pattern and shape round for each level, including the chosen answers and current question, under merrywick.learning.progress.v1. The separate merrywick.learning.enabled.v1 setting records that saving is on. These practice records contain no name, birthday, email, learner identifier or timestamp and are not sent to our server or an external learning provider. They are shared by anyone using this browser, not separated into child profiles. Clearing learning progress removes the rounds; turning saving off removes both the rounds and setting and prevents further saves. Clearing site storage also removes them. The activities remain playable when saving is off or unavailable.
Lantern Club rooms
Lantern Club saves your chosen explorer, solo adventure, earned decorations, and personal garden in this browser. Clear this site’s browser data to remove that save. An invited online room sends character choices, moves, approved reactions, and shared garden changes to our server and the explorers admitted to that room. Random room and session identifiers support joining and reconnecting; the session token stays in this tab’s session storage and is not included in the invitation.
Online rooms have no public directory, typed chat, microphone, camera, or fields requesting a child’s name, email, or birthday. A host approves each visitor. Rooms end after two hours or when the host ends them; active room state and session identifiers are then deleted. Hosting request logs are separate from this active game state. The setup checkbox is not verification of age, identity, or parental consent. A grown-up should manage invitations and supervise play.
Activity counts and hosting
Our server records activity events such as page views, game starts and finishes, story and video plays, and printable downloads. Events include an activity name, the page path, and the time. URL query text and fragments are excluded from the activity page path. The return-visit flag is used to label a page view as first or returning; it is not a unique visitor identifier.
Cloudflare hosts the site and provides cookie-free page-load analytics. Delivering a website still involves request information such as an IP address and browser details. Cookie-free does not mean no information is processed.
Grown-up purchases and support
Stripe handles payment-card details. Merrywick’s order and download services process information needed for a purchase, such as the adult’s email, payment status, order reference, and download access. A support request stores the email, optional order reference, and message you submit. Order emails are not added to marketing lists without separate consent.
Please use an adult’s email. Do not include a child’s name, photo, school, address, or other identifying details in a support message.
Privacy questions or deletion requests
Use the support form for a privacy concern or to ask about reviewing or deleting information you supplied. You do not need to have purchased anything. Clearing browser progress does not delete server records; purchase records may need to be retained for accounting, refunds, or legal obligations.
