A quick guide before you start
- Free play: the browser games, stories, and free activity book need no account or payment.
- No chat or public profiles: children cannot type messages or post their own content. In Lantern Club rooms, invited players can send only preset reactions.
- No ads or in-game purchases: optional paid printable books are a separate grown-up purchase.
- Easy to stop: Leaf Dash has pause and untimed Cozy mode. Memory Meadow has no countdown. There is no daily streak to maintain.
Choose by what your child enjoys
Younger children and early readers may need a grown-up to read the instructions. Choose an activity by the reading and movement skills it uses.
Counting, patterns and shapes
Pip’s garden count, Junie’s pattern picnic and Moss’s shape hunt each have three levels and eight questions with no timer. A grown-up can read the questions aloud. Saving practice is optional and starts off; see learning progress below.
Picture matching
Memory Meadow is a gentle starting point for children who can match pictures. No reading is needed once you have explained the game, and there is no timer.
Moving and catching
Leaf Dash uses a finger, mouse, or arrow keys. Try the untimed Cozy mode together first, or choose a 45-second round.
Making a little world
Little Garden lets children place friends and plants, move them, and undo changes. It has no timer or score. Tap or use arrow keys and Enter; younger children may need help choosing a piece. The scene stays in this browser and is not uploaded or shared.
Stories and making
Read The Leaf Hat together, or print a free activity. A grown-up should help with scissors and any materials used off-screen.
Lantern Club: playing together
Lantern Club is a free rescue adventure with customizable explorers and a garden to decorate. Solo progress stays in this browser. Online rooms hold up to four explorers and last up to two hours. Only people with the invitation can ask to join, and the host approves each visitor. Keep the invitation private, supervise the session, and use Remove or End room if needed.
Communication uses a small set of preset reactions. There is no typed chat, voice, public matchmaking, or in-game spending. The grown-up checkbox is a setup reminder, not age or identity verification. The shared room garden lasts for the room; your personal solo garden remains separate. See the privacy notice for data details.
Small breaks, on your terms
Choose a stopping point before starting: one story, a few pairs, or one round. Pause when you need to. You can leave without losing a streak or missing a reward. A drawing or a walk can be the next adventure.
Free printables and paid books
The free activity book on the Make page is for personal and classroom use. Print a page or the whole book; do not resell the files or redistribute them as your own product.
Paid books are digital downloads, not physical deliveries or subscriptions. The current paid-book license covers your own household. Teachers and groups should ask about classroom use before purchasing. See the printing license and refund policy.
Browse paid printable books or find a past order.
Privacy and saved progress
The games do not ask for a child’s name, email, or birthday. A best score, a return-visit flag, a small activity trail, and a Little Garden scene may be saved in this browser. Shared-device users share that progress. Clearing it does not cancel a purchase or erase an order. Optional learning progress is separate and starts off; its controls follow.
The site counts activity events and its providers process request information to deliver pages. Read the privacy notice for what is stored. Please use an adult’s email for purchases or support and keep children’s personal details out of messages.
Who makes Merrywick?
Merrywick Studio is an independent digital publishing imprint. The illustrations use generative AI, with human selection and preparation, as explained in our artwork disclosure.
Giving you can check
Our commitment is to set aside 50% of each purchase price, before payment processing fees, for the charity chosen at checkout. The giving record separates money raised from money already sent. The charities do not endorse Merrywick, and a purchase is not a tax-deductible donation for the buyer.
